I live at Skagit Commons with my wife, Lucia… as a matter of fact, we were wed in our common house in September 2023. (Our officiant is a neighbor, our nine flower “girls” are neighbors, our photographers are the children of neighbors, and our wedding coordinator is a neighbor.) We joined as members in April 2020, just as COVID-19 was descending upon the nation, and we were delighted to move into our new unit in January 2023. Now, after living in a single-family home for most of our lives, we are learning what it is to live in community: the shared meals, the circle work, the new friends, the planning and dreaming and making those plans and dreams real.
