Darryl Berlin has been in the construction trades for 30 years. Starting as an apprentice for a Timber frame building in 1992, to teaching apprenticeships in Natural Building techniques in the mid 2000’s and moving onto Construction Project Management in 2012. Darryl graduated from CoHousing Solutions’ yearlong Development Project Management Training Program in 2015. He worked as Project Manager for a 30 acre, 15 lot Major Subdivision project in West Petaluma. Darryl facilitated the entitlement process for a new concept of neighborhood, called Live Oak Farm Agrihood: https://liveoakfarmpetaluma.com/community which included a 5 acre organic Farm as the main amenity for property owners.

In 2018 Darryl work as Construction Manager for Fair Oaks Ecohousing: https://www.fairoaksecohousing.org/ A 30-unit Multi-family Cohousing development which successfully finished construction and moved in during the start of the Covid pandemic, spring 2020. Darryl is Board President of CommonSpace Community Land Trust, an affordable housing development organization based in Sonoma County. Darryl enjoys the process of assembling the right professional team to help an Owner meet their vision and goals of the project.

He serves as the glue holding the planning, coordination and control of a project from inception to completion. Through his work as a builder, design consultant, community member and educator, and Project Manager he is able to merge his passions for fine craft, ecological stewardship, relationship to place, and social justice into the projects he helps bring to life.
