Bio

Henrik “Henny” Tucker (they/them) is from Corpus Christi, Texas and started in the housing cooperative movement when they moved into College Houses student housing co-ops in 2013. They have participated in various housing co-op organizations wearing various hats including serving in co-op leadership positions, staff and serving on multiple boards of directors. They have been involved in College Houses, North American Students of Cooperation Organization (NASCO), Community Housing Expansion of Austin (CHEA), Boulder Housing Coalition (BHC), and Rosewood Community Housing before joining the Austin Cooperative Business Association as a Cooperative Developer in 2023. As a Cooperative Developer, they work as a co-op technical assistance provider for housing co-ops, worker co-ops, and a grocery co-op, act as a co-op community organizer, and are Seed Commons Project Steward loan coach. They have lived in community housing cooperatives for 9 years and only recently doesn’t live communally. They see their work through a lens of being a community organizer for co-ops and empowering co-ops though education and authentic relationships. They are a neuro-queer nerd who is passionate about their loved ones, their housing co-op, biking, building solidarity networks for the eventual fall of capitalism, and games.
