Retired newspaper writer and editor; member since 2016 of Shepherd Village (senior cohousing) in Shepherdstown, WV.

We are in a very small town in a rural area, but we are walking distance from a historic downtown, the Potomac River, and the Shepherd University campus. There’s a great Lifelong Learning program and many historic and Civil War sites, lots of tourism. We’re also just an hour from Dulles Int’l Airport, on the northwest edge of the official Washington DC metro area. Best of both worlds.

For several years, I have been on the Meals team, the Outreach team (helping with home sales and producing our monthly newsletter, the Shepherd Village Voice), and the Social Enrichment team. As of January 2025, I am also a member of our HOA Coordinating Team.

Interests include common meals, “marketing community,” and helping us become an increasingly cooperative community.
