Neil is a founding owner and co-developer of Swan’s Market Cohousing in Oakland, CA, the 50th cohousing community in the USA, established in 2000. He has since played pivotal roles in various organizations:

• Executive Director of the Cohousing Research Network
• Volunteer and Leadership Roles with the Cohousing Association of the US
• Co-director at the Foundation for Intentional Community (former)
• Intentional Communities Circle Member of Sociocracy For All
• Co-overseer of the annual National Cohousing Open House Days event with his colleague Raines Cohen
• Member of the Seniors in Cohousing Committee
• Member of the Cohousing Car Sharing Group (webpage to come!)

Neil also conducts national community tours, introducing thousands to the world of cohousing and intentional communities. He is deeply passionate about helping individuals navigate the intentional communities movement ecosystem, with a particular emphasis on cohousing, where he is often referred to as one of cohousing’s experienced resources.

As a certified life coach and technologist, he serves as a guide to individuals seeking their best selves and finding their way in these dynamic fields. Known as a connector, he advocates for the use of technology for social good, greater mindfulness, poetry and community living. He is currently based in Oakland, CA, USA.
