Whether you’re finding new members to join a forming community, or an individual buyer to sell an open unit, cultivating community connections doesn’t end at marketing and recruitment. Once you find that new community member, how do you introduce them to your community agreements, values, and norms? What strategies can help ensure a seamless transition from new member to seasoned cohouser?

This session, facilitated Dyan Wiley of Cherry Hill Cohousing (Amherst MA) and Lew Bowers, PDX Commons, (Portland OR), both members of the CohoUS Seniors in Cohousing Committee, will share their insights on orientation strategies and practices to help maintain your community’s unique spirit for years to come. They will also cover strategies for guiding resales to bring in informed and engaged new residents right from the start.
